Mikayla Deely
Mikayla Deely began her journey into the realm of the arts as an actress, where she learned how to embody different characters and take their stories on as her own. However, after she drafted her first novel, the world of creative writing took hold and hasn’t let up since.
Drawing from her own experiences in life, she writes YA and NA fantasy and sci-fi pieces centered on the complexities of family relationships and the quest of trying to find one’s place in the world. Her fantastical stories are brought to life through complex characters who face very real-world struggles. Her upcoming series, “Blood of the Elm,” delves deep into these intricate topics through its story, worldbuilding, and characters.
Mikayla works as a creative writing coach and book editor, dedicated to helping fellow writers achieve their literary goals.

Academic
Mikayla earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing with a focus on fiction, graduating with honors from Southern New Hampshire University in September 2025. She is also a member of the English National Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta.
She has taken classes from Kit Goldstein Grant, Linsay Northern, and Joanna Glushak.
Professional
Mikayla has been copy-editing since the beginning of 2022, starting her professional career on Fiverr and maintaining a five-star rating throughout her time on the site. Currently, she also tutors students in their essay writing.
While she specializes in fantasy and YA fiction, she has helped clients with their manuscripts through a wide range of genres, from editing student theses to epic fantasies, ranging well over 100,000 words.

Mikayla has been writing since 2015, starting with scripts and eventually moving on to short stories and novels.
She has edited friends' and family's work over the years and provided structured feedback, advice, or simply a few grammatical corrections.
